How it works

1. Search by idea or occasion

Type a theme like courage or an occasion like retirement. We match on wording, author and the moments each line suits.

2. Check the source

Every quote lists its author, work and year, so you can cite it with confidence and look up the original.

3. Copy it with the credit

One tap copies the quote and its attribution, ready for your slides or note cards.

Questions

Are the quotes accurate?

We favor lines we can trace to a speech, poem, song or play, and we skip the ones that circulate online with no real source. Each entry lists its work and year. For anything you plan to publish, confirm it against the original.

Can I use these quotes in my speech?

Quoting a line with credit is routine in speeches. Everything in the library today is in the public domain, including speeches given by U.S. presidents in office.

Where are the modern Broadway, movie and recent song quotes?

Those lines are still under copyright, so we will add them only through proper licensing. For now the library focuses on public-domain material, including classic musicals, and a set of modern speeches.

How does the free search work?

Your first search shows its top quote in full and tells you how many more match. A subscription unlocks the rest, along with unlimited searches.
